Fireman's Sour

The Drink of the Week is a Fireman’s Sour

Welcome back once again to Nick’s Mix! Get ready to heat things up a bit with this week’s Drink of the Week.

My goal with this series is to teach you how to make a variety of mixed drinks in your own home using simple recipes.

Each month there are four drinks based on a particular spirit. The first month was
vodka drinks, the second was tequila and this month we are playing around with white rum.

This week’s drink is a Fireman’s Sour. There are a couple of bar tools that’ll make this one easier for you, including a cocktail shaker and a strainer or a shaker with a straining lid.

1.5 oz. White Rum (Bacardi or the like)
1.5 oz. Lime Juice
1/2 oz. Grenadine
2 oz. Club Soda

In a shaker half filled with ice combine the rum, lime juice and grenadine. For this one, you’re going to want to cover it up and really shake well.

Strain into a highball glass half filled with fresh ice cubes and top things off with the club soda.

Stir gently… you don’t want to lose the fizz of the club soda. Garnish with an Orange slice and a Cherry or whatever fruit you like really.

If you missed any of the last two months segments, they are archived and searchable! Feel free to explore because variety is the spice of life!
